What we do not collect

No account, so no name, no email address and no password. We do not ask you to sign in to Instagram or Facebook, and we never see your credentials for either.

We do not keep a record of which videos you download, and we do not build a profile of you.

What the server does keep, briefly

A short-lived cache holds the result of reading a post for about an hour, so that two people pasting the same link do not both trigger a fresh request. It holds the video address and title, not the video and not anything about you.

A simple counter keyed to your IP address limits how many requests can come from one connection per minute. It exists to keep the server responsive and is discarded continuously.

Standard web server logs may record IP addresses and request times, as on any website.

Videos are never stored

When you press download, the file streams from Meta's servers through ours to your device. Nothing is written to disk at any point, so there is no library of downloaded videos here to leak or to subpoena.

Cookies

One small cookie is set when a download begins, purely so the page can tell that the file started and show you a confirmation. It holds no identifier, expires after two minutes, and is not used for tracking.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page. Questions can go to [email protected].
